Juan Ojeda Jr., MSA

Founder & Principal, Structural Accountability

Juan Ojeda Jr. is a tax professional, strategic advisor, independent researcher, and founder of Structural Accountability. His work sits at the intersection of tax practice, governance, reporting systems, operational accountability, and organizational decision-making.

His professional perspective centers on a recurring issue across organizations. Many problems become technical only after structural weaknesses have already developed. Unclear ownership, weak systems, limited visibility, ineffective controls, and poor accountability often contribute to tax compliance problems, reporting breakdowns, operational backlogs, and difficulty scaling.

Juan's tax experience spans preparation, review, advisory, collections, back-year compliance, entity matters, IRS and state controversy, and complex individual and small-business tax issues. His background also includes public accounting, tax controversy environments, independent practice ownership, team leadership, workflow development, internal controls, operational restructuring, and client service.

He previously served as Co-Founder, Partner & Operator of TaxNerd®, where his responsibilities included tax advisory, restructuring, workflow design, internal controls, governance development, systems implementation, and client operations. During TaxNerd's 2026 organizational transition, Juan supported the orderly wind-down and separation of operating responsibilities, including client continuity, documentation, systems, workflow transition, and financial reconciliation.

Juan founded Structural Accountability as an independent research and professional platform examining how governance, reporting systems, incentives, professional judgment, technology, and accountability influence organizational outcomes.

Structural Accountability now connects independent research and publication with governance and operational advisory, practitioner commentary, professional development, and tax preparation and advisory services.

Juan's independent research focuses on governance, reporting behavior, tax administration, AI oversight, structural pressures, professional accountability, reporting systems, and organizational decision-making. His research and practitioner work are designed to inform one another, connecting academic inquiry with problems observed in real operating environments.

Beginning September 1, 2026, Juan will serve on the Southern New Hampshire University Alumni Association Board of Directors.

He holds a B.S. in Accounting and an M.S. in Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University and has completed additional graduate business education and executive coursework, including Harvard Business School Online CORe. He is pursuing Enrolled Agent licensure and CPA candidacy and is preparing to begin Purdue University Global's Doctor of Business Administration program in February 2027.

His broader leadership background includes experience in sales, operations, and organizational leadership before transitioning into accounting and tax practice. This combination of practitioner, operational, leadership, and research experience shapes the multidisciplinary direction of Structural Accountability.
